Call to Order <br /> Chairman Allen called to order a regular meeting of the Reading School <br /> Committee on June 17 , 1985 , at 7 : 31 p. m. , in the Central Office <br /> Conference Room. All members were present, as were Superintendent <br /> Wells and Assistant Superintendents Munnelly and Winslow. <br /> During the course of the meeting there were over 30 visitors including <br /> Reading Memorial High School Principal Leonard D'Orlando, his Assis- <br /> tant Principal Allan Alson, Joshua Eaton School Principal Donald Farn- <br /> ham, Birch Meadow School Principal Dennis Murphy, Mr. Paul Graveline, <br /> Birch Meadow School reading teacher, Mr. Terry Woody, RMHS English <br /> Department Chairman, Mr. Ronald Howland, RMHS English teacher, Mr. <br /> Peter Hichborn Parker Middle School English Department Chairman , Mr. <br /> Jeffrey Cryan, Coolidge Middle School English Department Chairman, Mr. <br /> Everett Blodgett , RMHS chemistry teacher , and representatives of <br /> R. E .A. P. (Reading Extended-Day Activity Program) Task Force , the <br /> Wellington School ( formerly Red Sneakers) , and the Daily Chronicle . <br /> Approval of Minutes of June 3 , 1985 <br /> On a motion by Mr. Coco, seconded by Mr. Shannon, the minutes of the <br /> meeting of June 3 , 1985 were unanimously approved. <br /> Bills and Payrolls <br /> Warrants for bills and payrolls were approved as follows : <br /> Bills <br /> June 14 , 1935 - General Expense - $39 ,146 . 52 <br /> June 21 , 1985 - General Expense - $36 ,308. 66 <br /> Payrolls <br /> June 13 , 1985 - Teachers - $327 , 132 . 63 <br /> June 14 , 1985 - Weekly - $27,607.79 <br /> June 21 , 1985 - Weekly - $40 , 102 . 35 <br /> June 21 , 1985 - Teachers - $1, 082,344. 60 <br /> Citizens ' Input <br /> There was no citizens' input. <br /> School Highlights <br /> A fifth grade "Propaganda" unit, part of the reading program at the <br /> Birch Meadow School , was the subject of "School Highlights.
