READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />ALL BOARDS MEETING - SENIOR CENTER <br />MINUTES - ALL BOARDS MEETING 25 MAY 1994 <br />The School Committee meeting was called to order by Chair <br />Robin D'Antona at 7:32 p.m. All members attended the <br />meeting, as did most members of the School Building <br />Committee, Finance Committee, and the Board of Selectmen. <br />Also present were the School Superintendent, the Town <br />Manager, and Town Treasurer. <br />Chairman Russell Graham of the School Building Committee <br />presented a report of the activities of the Building Program <br />with a brief report on the progress of the elementary <br />buildings and a longer report on the Parker Middle School <br />Building Project. <br />The Town Manager presented a report of the long range capital <br />plan to explain how the school projects are being funded. <br />Members of various boards raised questions and made comments <br />to clarity the issue about school construction and funding. <br />Principal Jack Delaney of Parker related to the assemblage <br />the picture of a school overcrowded while construction was <br />underway. <br />The members spoke of the many financial unknowns which may <br />affect the timing of funding. Others spoke of the possible <br />role of Fall Town Meeting in building renovation decisions. <br />Speakers emphasized the urgency of all boards staying in <br />communication about the building needs of the Reading <br />schools.
