READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />READING, MASSACHUSETTS <br />SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING <br />REGULAR SESSION MINUTES JUNE 6, 1995 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Timothy Twomey called the regular school committee meeting to <br />order at 6:00 in the Superintendent's Conference Room. All members <br />were present except Mrs. D'Antona who arrived at 6:30. Also <br />present was Interim Superintendent Dennis Richards. <br />BILLS <br />The warrants for bills and payrolls were as follows: <br />June 5, 1995 - Bills - $ 10,421.11 <br />The warrants for payrolls were as follows: <br />June 2, 1995 - Biweekly - $ 125,704.32 <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Mr. Richards mentioned that he met today with the SEEM <br />Collaborative to discuss SEEM issues. <br />Then there was discussion regarding the format of the status of <br />appropriation reports. Mr. Stohlman feels the report should <br />contain more information. <br />There was discussion about the link between the Town Accountant and <br />the School Committee. Mr. Spadafora requested a copy of the <br />agreement/ contract describing the relationship. Mrs. Cavicchi <br />spoke of having a Grant Writer and a Business Manager. She stated <br />that she did not appreciate hearing about the budget shortfall from <br />someone outside the School Committee. <br />Interim Superintendent Richards distributed School Department <br />Financial Management Sheets at the beginning of the meeting. <br />Mr. Stohlman mentioned that if the items listed on the sheets were <br />put into practice, there would be no surprises. <br />A member asked if the Individual Ed plans could all be done at the <br />end of the year. Mr. Richards explained that there are too many to <br />do all at once. All of the testing and evaluations take time. The <br />parents have to agree as well. The Individual Ed plans are <br />staggered throughout the year. <br />
