READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />SCHOOL COMMITTEE MINUTES <br />REGULAR SESSION APRIL 24 1995 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Timothy Twomey called the regular session of the School Committee to order at 6:07 p.m. <br />in the Reading Memorial High School Staff Center. All members were present. Also present <br />were Assistant Superintendent Dennis Richards, RMHS Principal Rena Mirkin and Student <br />Representative Christine Cerratani. <br />BILLS <br />The warrants for bills were as follows: <br />April 18, 1995 - Bills - $370,452.80 <br />April 24, 1995 - Bills - $186,362.24 <br />ITEMS AS NECESSARY <br />Mr. Stohlman asked the School Committee to appoint a School Committee member as a liaison to <br />a teen center sub - committee of the Reading Recreation Committee. <br />Susan Cavicchi moved that Robert Spadafora be the School Committee's liaison to the teen center <br />sub - committee of the Reading Recreation Committee Matthew Cummings seconded the motion <br />The vote was unanimous. <br />SUPERINTENDENT SELECTION COMMITTEE <br />Chair Twomey reviewed the Superintendent's Selection Committee Policy that calls for 8 <br />members: 4 education members and 4 non - education members. It was noted that 14 selection <br />committee applications have been received. <br />Chair Twomey proposed that the School Committee rank order of the non - education and the <br />education members and suggested that the top 4 in each group would be appointed. <br />The School Committee selected Joan Coco, Stanley Nissen, Nancy Stager and Dennis LaCroix as <br />the 4 non - education members for the Superintendent's Selection Committee. <br />
