READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />READING, MASSACHUSETTS <br />SPECIAL SESSION MINUTES MARCH 20,1995 <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br />Timothy Twomey called the Special Session School Committee Meeting <br />to order at 7:40 in the Superintendent's Conference Room. All <br />members were present. <br />Mr. Twomey welcomed the candidates for the Superintendent's <br />Screening Committee. He explained that the meeting would deal with <br />a single agenda item. He stated that the Screening Committee shall <br />consist of eight members, four of which will be educators and four <br />citizens not educators. <br />Mr. Twomey introduced the candidates as: <br />1. Maureen McDonald - Mrs. MacDonald attended Salem State College <br />and Boston College. She is a parent, an educator and Town Meeting <br />Member. She is a co- advisor for the 1995 RMHS Yearbook. She <br />served on RMHS principal search committee. <br />2. Nancy Drexler - Ms. Drexler attended U.Mass, and U. Maryland. <br />She is currently employed, by her own firm, conducting educational <br />research and evaluation involving innovative schools and programs <br />around the country. She has been involved in a search before but <br />not with a consultant. <br />3. Nancy Stager - Ms. Stager is currently employed by The Bank of <br />Boston as a Senior Human Resources Manager for Global Products. <br />She graduated from Cornell in 1982. She was involved in the Joshua <br />Eaton Principal Search. <br />4. Robert K. Sullivan - Mr. Sullivan is a professional recruiter. <br />He is solely interested in the search to identify the best possible <br />candidate to maintain excellence in education in Reading. He holds <br />degrees from Villanova and Boston College. <br />Mr. Cummings and Mrs D'Antona left at this point. <br />5. Keith R. Manville - Mr. Manville has been the Principal of <br />Beverly High School for the past eight years. He holds a Doctor of <br />Education from Boston University. Mr. Manville work on the Search <br />Committee for Dr. Piechota. <br />6. Dennis J. LaCroix - Mr. LaCroix is a partner in a Boston Law <br />firm. He holds a J.D. and an A.B. from Boston College. He has a <br />daughter in the first grade at Killam. <br />7. Marlene McArdle - Mrs. McArdle is a Special Needs teacher in <br />Stoneham. She has a Masters Degree in Moderate Special Needs from <br />Lesley College and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Boston State <br />College. She was involved in a Principal Search last year. <br />
