(W BY -LAW COMMITTEE MINUTES #121 <br />January 20, 1988 <br />Members present: Ed Murphy, George Theophanis, <br />Nils Nordberg and Dolores Carroll. <br />7:48 Chairman Murphy called the meeting to order in Room 16, <br />Town Hall. <br />Reviewed and accepted minutes of meeting dated December <br />9, 1987. <br />Discussed Attorney General's approval of the by -laws and <br />the publication of same. <br />Began codification of the by -laws. Ed discussed table <br />of contents. <br />George asked if we should include index. Index is in <br />alpha and page order. <br />Table of contents in beginning and needn't be detailed. <br />Ed compared formats from several communities. Agreed <br />final book size should be 8 1/2 x 11. <br />By -laws would begin with article number, followed by use <br />of decimal system. <br />Definitions should include only those explicit to <br />by -laws - mainly legal purposes. <br />Begin with general statement as per Andover. <br />A review of the provisions of the General By -laws to <br />determine separate paragraphs, with information as to <br />when Charter was adopted (March 24, 1986) and when it <br />became effective (July 1, 1986). <br />9:40 Committee adjourned to meet on Wednesday, February 17, <br />1988. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />AY,A,4�)OK4A.A_Z1 <br />Dolores S.
