MASS. <br />Time: 5:35 PM wh FEB 22 <br />P <br />3 <br />101 <br />Location: Berger Room <br />Ruth Clay, Staff, Elizabeth Antanavica, 71 Salem Street <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Darlene Foley <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />Public Hearing Section 2 Keeping of Animal Regulations: Motion made by Meade, seconded by Singer to open <br />the Public Hearing. Motion passed unanimously. Ms. Antanavica inquired about the lot requirement and <br />application process to keep chickens. It was noted that the copy of regulation printed by the Reading Chronicle <br />omitted some portions of the regulation. She was given a copy of the proposed regulations which addressed <br />her concems and will submit her application in the future. Motion made by Singer, seconded by Meade to <br />close the Public Hearing. Motion passed unanimously. No further discussion by the Board members. Motion <br />made by Meade, seconded by Singer to approve the revised Section 2 as presented. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Minutes <br />The minutes of February 15, 2013 were presented. Singer made motion to accept, seconded by Meade. <br />Approved 2:0 <br />Lifeguard Policy <br />Meade inquired if there was any further contact from Summit Towers regarding the necessity for a lifeguard or <br />a variance from that requirement; Clay advised there was not. She clarified that the state regulations do not <br />require a lifeguard; therefore, no variance was necessary. <br />Trans Fat Ban <br />Clay attended a Board of Health hearing in Chelsea on February 1 g'" regarding their ban of artificial trans fats <br />that included a total ban rather than the limit of 0.5 grams trans fats per serving in the Boston and Cambridge <br />regulations. The staff had done a great deal of outreach to the food establishments to prepare for the <br />implementation however, there were a number of establishments in the audience opposed to the ban.
