Committee Vice Chair, <br />Frank Driscoll, Recreation Committee Chair, Richard Hand, Recreation Committee Member, Kate <br />Kaminer, Rec. Committee Member, Mike DiPietro, Rec. Committee Member, Adam Chase, Rec. <br />Committee Member, Karen Janowski, School Committee Liaison, Joe Rossetti, Associate Member, <br />John Feudo, Recreation Administrator, Jenna Fiorente, Recreation Program Coordinator <br />E. Hughes called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM. <br />M. Stolecki made a motion to accept the minutes from the June 12, 2012 meeting. N. Swain <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed in favor of acceptance by a vote of 8 -0 -0. <br />Red Thunder Decision on Field Space <br />J. Feudo stated that he met with RUSC and RLAX regarding the space being vacated by RUSC <br />formerly used for Red Thunder Soccer. It was clear that both organizations have an internal need <br />for the space and could put it to good use. Therefore it did not seem to make sense to allocate the <br />space to a non - Reading group. J. Feudo added that space can however be provided for the Fall <br />season and he would work with folks from the Red Thunder program to make that happen. <br />A long discussion ensued. F. Driscoll stated he felt the town did not have the fields to meet the <br />demand of outside users. <br />K. Kaminer entered at 7:21. <br />M. Stolecki made a motion to grant Red Thunder permits for the Fall 2012 season with location and <br />logistics to be determined by the Rec. Administrator. F. Driscoll seconded the motion. Motion <br />passed in favor of the motion by a vote of 9 -0 -0. <br />J. Fiorente gave an update for programming. She mentioned summer camp number were strong. <br />Baseball camp week 2 actually sold out. Kim Penney's basketball program also sold out. The <br />summer concerts were also going very well. <br />R. Hand gave an update for RCASA. The committee did some recognition for service to their <br />board, including Nancy -Linn Swain. RCASA is working on recruiting for the youth crew. The ban <br />for selling cigarettes in pharmacies started July Is'. This was speared headed by the youth crew. <br />RCASA is also applying for a federal grant to fund the staff in the FY 2013 budget. <br />
