A discussion of the previously assembled list of priorities was undertaken, and several <br /> were grouped into categories. <br /> Priorities for 2013 <br /> o Improve Trail Network <br /> o Manage Recreational Activities <br /> o Manage Recreational Camping <br /> o Limit Vehicle Access <br /> o Promote Forest Diversity <br /> o Manage Dog Walking <br /> o Explore Opportunities for Environmental Education <br /> Future Priorities <br /> o Improve Access and Parking <br /> o Minimize Impact of DPW/Compost Area <br /> o Restore Flow and Flooding <br /> o Manage Grassy Area as Habitat <br /> o Implement Climate Change Adaption Strategy <br /> Note: Peter suggests that we talk to the Reading Climate Change Committee <br /> Amended Priority List _ <br /> o Plan to manage invasive species <br /> o Establish Committee Staff roles <br /> 2. A discussion of the Rules and Regulation process was explained by Peter <br /> Hechenbleikner.The town can draft rules and regulations through public hearings,the <br /> town council and the selectmen..Four of the priorities for 2013 can be rules and <br /> regulations—Manage Recreational Activities,Manage Recreational Camping, Limit <br /> Vehicle Access and Manage Dog Walking. <br /> Peter suggested that the Town Forest Committee should articulate what should be done. <br /> Patrice mentioned that the current set of rules and regulations are from the 1930's. <br /> 3. Trail Improvement was discussed.The culverts to connect wetlands need work. Some <br /> trails need to be removed; some new trails should be added. If some roads should be <br /> removed,discussions would be needed with the DPW Water Division,the Fire <br /> Department and the Conservation Commission. <br /> 1 <br />
