BOARD OF HEALTH <br />April 24, 2012 <br />The meeting of the Reading Board of Health came to order at 5:52 pm in the Berger <br />Room of Reading Town Hall. Present were Board members Barbara Meade, David <br />Singer and staff Ruth Clay. <br />In attendance: Ben Tafoya, Board of Selectmen Liaison, Lauren Kiezulas, Joseph Hunt, <br />Nursing Students, RCASA members Julianne DeAngelis, Erica McNamara, Ashley <br />Testa, Samantha Abate, residents Diane and Wendy Meyers. <br />Minutes <br />Motion made by Singer, seconded by Meade, to approve the minutes of March 15, 2012 <br />as submitted. Motion passed 2:0: <br />Members of RCASA gave an informative presentation. RCASA supports the banning of <br />tobacco sales in pharmacies. Letters sent to pharmacies in 2011 regarding the ban <br />received no response. <br />The Board reviewed the model regulation restricting the sale of tobacco products and <br />nicotine delivery products, made decisions regarding policy language to be incorporated <br />into the draft regulation. Clay will present draft regulation at next meeting. <br />Other business and items not reasonably anticipated at the time of the posting <br />• The proposed ticketing policy for enforcement of the Food Code was discussed <br />with Board of Selectman Liaison, Ben Tafoya. This policy would become an <br />effective tool in preventing food borne illness. <br />• Application to keep chickens submitted by Dianne & John Meyers of 159 <br />Wakefield Street.
