0EM_ ?51 <br />Carolyn Martino is requesting to buy back 5 years of creditable service (1989 to 1994) during the period <br />in which she was employed in North Reading. She will submit a check for the total $3,046.37. The <br />board members approved the buyback and a letter will be sent to the Middlesex County Retirement <br />System requesting they accept liability for the 5 years. <br />PERAC's internal case manager has determined that accidental retiree Bruce Donaghey is unable to <br />perform the essential duties of his job. <br />On April 18, 2001 Mr. Leonard Rucker made his final annual payment of $3,927.68 to buy back his 4 <br />years of military service. <br />The Massachusetts Municipal Association has filed a broad based bill (H2067), which addresses the ills <br />of our pension systems, but would also delay all pending legislation, including COLA improvements. <br />A hearing is set for Wednesday May 30, 2001 at the Division of Administrative Law Appeals, 133 <br />Portland Street, Boston at 1:00 and 2:30 regarding the group classification of the Field Technician, <br />Frederick Jackson and Chief Field Technician, Donald Waters, of the Engineering Department.
