Minutes of the Board of Library Trustees Meeting <br />Monday, January 9, 2012 <br />Attending: David Hutchinson, Chair; Vicki Yablonsky; Cherie Dubois; Karyn Storti; <br />Dick Curtis; Paula Perry, Finance Committee Liaison; Ruth Urell, Director <br />Observers: Andrew Grimes; Brenda Wettergreen <br />Meeting called to order 7:03 pm <br />Minutes of the November 15, 2011 and November 28, 2011 meetings approved unanimously <br />(Yablonsky /Dubois) <br />Financial Report <br />• Detail library materials budget <br />• State Aid and Donations accounts reviewed <br />• Review of Self -Check In system planning <br />Foundation <br />• Meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 12th. <br />• Positive overview of Annual Solicitation <br />Friends <br />• Ten houses have agreed to participate. Five homes were visited by Cherrie and Vicki, and <br />all are different and it is anticipated that it will be a very good House Tour this year <br />• Sponsorships are in good shape with many former and new sponsors <br />• House Tour is the ls` Sunday in May (5/6/2012) 1 -5pm; $20 Friends members; $25 Public <br />Building Program <br />• Status of Municipalities wait list of awards discussed <br />• Discussion: the MBLC indicates it will vote to readjust the wait listed libraries within the <br />year <br />• Approximately $1.2million has not been allocated due to one community not receiving <br />local approval <br />• The Trustees discussed sending a letter to follow up with the MBLC on the status of the <br />wait listed libraries considering Reading Library's position on the list <br />• Chairman of Trustees reported that he invited local residents and Town Meeting members <br />Andrew Grimes and Matt Wilson to assist Board of Trustees with building program <br />promotion, planning and timeline due to their familiarity with local budgets, Town <br />Meeting, and public process. <br />• Andrew Grimes (attending meeting) reported on the Town schedule to vote pending <br />clarity on state money, other debt exclusion projects, and the flexibility to meet the six <br />month period following the award to approve matching funding <br />
