,RECEIVED <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING 1 TOWN CLERK <br />MINUTES READING, MASS. <br />November 10, 2011 <br />1011,JAN•24 P 2 52' <br />The meeting of the Reading Board of Health came to.order at 7 pm in the first floor <br />meeting room of Wakefield Town Hall. Present were Board members Barbara Meade, <br />David Singer, Andrew Friedmann, and staff Ruth Clay. <br />Minutes <br />Motion made by Singer, seconded by Meade to approve the minutes as submitted. <br />Motion passed 2:0:0 (Friedman had not yet arrived). <br />Variance Request from Anne Jack, 51 Walnut Street from Food Code <br />105CMR590.009 (D) (2) (b) (3) <br />A copy of that section of the Food Code was distributed to the Board. Clay noted that the <br />Food Code includes a restriction for Residential Kitchens to limit workers to immediate <br />family members residing in the household. As this proposed business involves two <br />sisters who live in separate houses in Reading, a variance was requested. After a brief <br />discussion, the Board voted 3:0:0 to approve the variance request. <br />Clay reported that she had recently followed up with Tim Dames of DEP to work on <br />having surveillance cameras set up at the illegal dumping area of Causeway Street. <br />Meeting was suspended until 7:30 pm when the members of the Wakefield Board of <br />Health ( Laurel Gourville, Elaine Silva, Ann McGonagle Santos), Melrose Board of <br />Health (Joe DiPieto, Maurine Garipay), Reading Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, <br />Wakefield Town Administrator Steve Maio, and Melrose Mayor Rob Dolan arrived. <br />Introductions with Melrose and Wakefield Boards of Health <br />Meeting resumed with an informal discussion held among people. Mayor Dolan, Town <br />Administrator Steve Maio, and Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner all noted how <br />pleased they were that the Boards were meeting together and their enthusiasm for the <br />collaboration among the three communities. <br />Reading Board of Health member Andrew Friedmann left. Melrose Board of Health <br />member Frank Brincheiro arrived. <br />Presentation by Riverside Outpatient Center <br />Maureen Mulhem, Program Director, gave a powerpoint presentation that included an <br />overview of the services provided by Riverside Outpatient Center. 62 Reading clients <br />received 865 visits in FY2011. $71,903.68 was billed to insurance for these visits; <br />$38,118.63 was paid with $33,785.05 free care. Reading paid $7000 toward that free <br />care. <br />
