RECEIVED <br />TOWN CLERK <br />READING, MASS. BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />1011 NOV 30 A % I $ , October 13, 2011 <br />The Board of Health (BOH) meeting was called to order on October 13, 2011 at 5:40 pm <br />in the Berger Room, Town Hall, by Barbara Meade, Chair. Those present at the meeting <br />were Dr. David Singer and Ruth Clay, Public Health Director. <br />In attendance: Darlene Foley. <br />Minutes <br />The minutes of September 15, 2011, were read and accepted 2:0. <br />Old Business <br />Grumpy Doyles — All outstanding fines have been paid. There were no other issues at <br />this time. <br />Other Business <br />Two complaints were received about illegal dumping on Causeway, abutting property at <br />Austin Prep. Initial complaint was investigated by Greg Erickson. Area was cleaned up <br />but the following day more dumping occurred. Ruth will follow up the possibility of <br />cameras being installed to monitor the area. <br />Flu clinic was held on October 5`h at the Killam School despite the town wide power <br />outage; 148 immunizations were given. <br />Ruth advised the Board of the actions taken during the power outage. All food <br />establishments will be provided with a packet on Guidance for Emergency Action <br />Planning. <br />Reading is trying to join the Greater River Valley Coalition. A representative (other than <br />the Health Director) may be needed to attend the meetings to vote on the Town's behalf. <br />Ruth proposed to have a joint board meeting with Melrose, Wakefield and Reading where <br />staff can meet each other and extend an invitation to EMARC and Riverside Community <br />Care to give a presentation regarding their work within the communities. <br />There being no other business the Board voted 2:0 to adjourn at 6:55 pm. The next <br />scheduled meeting is for November 10, 2011. <br />All written materials distributed at the meeting are included in the minutes and can be <br />located in the Health Department, 2011 BOH Minutes book. <br />
