Meeting Minutes June 13, 2012 Reading Cities of Climate Protection Advisory Committee 7:00 - 7:06 Welcome to everyone. Members and Guests in Attendance. Voting Members: Ron, Ray, Joan, and Dave. Associate Members: Laurie Ann, Gina and Michelle Meeting minutes for May 23 accepted. Additional agenda items. RECEIVED FOWN CLERK R E A DING, M A s,S 1011 JUL 2b A 10: 03 7:18 — 7:22 July 10 Joint Board Meeting (Reading Selectmen and RMLD Board) to vote on the replacement RMLD Board member. 7:22 — 7:28 Walkable Reading. Health Director got a small grant for walking routes, share knowledge with surrounding communities. Mass in Motion Grant from the CDC. 7:28 --7: Green Business Energy Audit Update. The Swiss Bakers has had three audits : water, electricity, and gas. The report for water was forwarded to our members. We are awaiting the submission of the electricity and gas audits. When we have all of the reports, we will meet to discuss our next steps in the granting of our first Green Business Award. Consider local food buying and natural foods. Ron has called Julie Higgins several times without a reply. 7:25 - 7:34 Recycle Bin in the CVS Parking Lot. Potential conflict the location of the recycle bin with the banks located in the lot. . 7:34 — 7:35 Recycle Bin and Bicycle Path Grant. Ron called Peter and did not get a response. 7:35 — 8:25 Family and Friends Day (June 16 11:00 to 3:00). We got $200 from Home Depot for prizes at the booth. Raffle for a tree sponsorship. Laurie Ann to get the table from Reading Light. Michelle to do the tent. Handouts are made for the Taking Root campaign. Games: Leaf Identification Game and Pin the Tree on the Forest Game. Ron and Dave to prepare a handout on the benefits of trees. 8:25 — 8:27 Sunday, June 24, 4:00 — 8:00pm. Committee Party at Ray Porter's house. 8:27 — 8:30 Senior Community Center. Meet with Seniors and talk about the environment. 8:30 Adjourned
