RECEIVED <br />Meeting Minutes TG1NN CLERK <br />January 25, 2012 READING, MASS. <br />Reading Cities of Climate Protection Advisory Committee <br />1011 APR -2 P 3 30 <br />7:00 - 7:15 Welcome to everyone. Members and Guests in Attendence. <br />Voting Members: Ron, Dave, Ray, and Joan. <br />Associate Members: Michelle and Laurie Ann <br />Guest: Eleanor Burke Hardin <br />Tony has stepped down from a Voting Member to an Associate Member. <br />Anyone interested in being Committee Secretary, let Ron know. <br />Meeting minutes for 12/14/2012 accepted as amended. <br />7:13 - 7:30 Memorial Tree Program — Revised draft brochure sent to the Tree Warden. Something <br />needs to be added about the name plates. Additional information about the trees that <br />might be used could be added to the Town Website. <br />Michelle looked at alternative plaques buy using a tree slice from the compost center as a <br />base to put the name plates. She is also looking for a carver to add a tree to the trunk <br />slice. A plate could be prepared for presentation to Camille on February 28. <br />Launch the Tree Program to the Town on Earth Day April 22 <br />7:30 — 7:40 Recycle Bin in the parking lot CVS. Promotion of the recycle bin will be through the <br />Reading/North Reading Chamber of Commerce with the support of Bill Crowley who <br />received positive responses to a survey of local business. Flyers can also be distributed <br />directly to business in the immediate area. Michelle will put together a brochure. Anyone <br />with text that can be used in the brochure, pass it along to Michelle. <br />7:40 — 7:50 Green Business Award - A draft application for the Green Business Award was prepared <br />by Joan. The application is general with broad categories. We can have a list of <br />prerequisites for each of the various categories, energy, water, waste reduction. Swiss <br />Bakery is willing to work with us as our first green business. Mike O'Halloran may have <br />some information on water conservation. <br />7:50 — 7:55 Matera Cabin — Upgrades on weatherization still need to be done. There is still $200 from <br />the NEGEF grant in our account for supplies. Ron will contact Peter H. to find out who is <br />responsible for the cabin. <br />7:55 — 8:00 Updating the Town Website and Committee Websites — The Town is converting to a new <br />format that will allow for Committee to post their own material. <br />8:00 — 8:05 GreenSense Update — No further clarification of the multiple posting of the "GreenSense" <br />articles. <br />8:05 — 8:15 Final vote on the name change that we put before the Board of Selectmen. <br />
