MNSJ. <br />Iftee <br />2012 APR -2 P 3: 301, <br />07:08 -07:10 Welcome to everyone. Dick Hahn from RMLD present as guest. No <br />meeting minutes. <br />07:10 -08:28 Dick Hahn presents energy generation and renewable energy credits. <br />Renewable energy credits (RECs) are a measure or proof of the renewable <br />energy produced by a project. A REC is 1 MW -hr (energy). RECs last <br />only a year before they are retired. The goal is to create a market for <br />renewable energy projects by providing a financial mechanism. RECs are <br />purchased along with the power and capacity of a renewable energy <br />project. <br />The committee discussed the topic of whether RMLD should manage its <br />REC by holding them to retirement or to sell them on the market. <br />Motion to vote on the RMLD policy to hold the RECs for renewable <br />energy projects made by Joan. Seconded by Ron. Motion discussion. 3 -1 <br />of full members. <br />8:28 — 8:29 Town of Reading to contribute $400 toward the plaque for the Tree <br />Program. Need to know where the Tree may be located. <br />8:29 — 8:30 Ron talked with JRM about the paper recycling program. JRM is still <br />interested. <br />Checklist for the Green Business by next meeting. <br />Bob LeLachure delayed in updating the committee's web page. <br />
