June 8, 2011 Reading Advisory Committee on Cities for Climate Protection Program
Committee Notes for June 8, 2011. 7PM (Next Meeting — June 15 at Town Hall)
Present were Ray Porter, Joan Boegel, Tony Capobianco, David Williams, Ron D'Addario and Stephanie Anderberg.
Meeting opening - -Chair Ray Porter opened the meeting.
Minutes — The minutes of the May 11 meeting were approved with edits from Gina.
Other Business to add to agenda — none
Town Day — Electric car and commuter bike are confirmed for our booth. We still need a game
for kids — possibly something about transportation options, with matchbox cars. Ron has AAA
brochures, and we can download some previous Green Sense articles about green transportation/ green
driving. The upcoming Green Sense article will be about the Town Day, our booth, and green tips for
attending the event. We plan to have a tent, and need a table. We'll make a staffing signup sheet for the
next meeting. Also, still need to come up with a quiz (and prizes ?) for the adults.
Energy Roundtable — Still need energy tips for businesses (Ron has a draft) and website. Need
to divide up current draft of business tips into items for tenants and items for property owners. The tips
brochure can be a tool to drive people to the website. We might consider, when the brochures are ready'
distributing them at a Chamber meeting. Ron and Dave will work on editing the draft, Tony and Ray
will work on material for the Chamber to put on their webpage.
Other Business — There is an upcoming retirement party for Fran Fink. Also, this raises some
questions about how to easily /swiftly transfer remaining NEGEF grant funds to the Mattera fund, for
weatherization.
Potluck at Ron's house at 6pm on Saturday.
