RECEIVED <br />Reading Cultural Council TOWN CLERK <br />May 10, 2010 READING, MASS. <br />r r � <br />MEETING CALLED TO ORDER — 7:30 pm <br />MEMBERS PRESENT Vicky Schubert, Lorraine Horn, Peggy Caouette, Alice Armstrong, <br />Sudie Fay, and Lynne Cassinari. Joan Marshman, who is interested in serving on the RCC was <br />also present. <br />MINUTES: The minutes of the April 12, 2010 meeting were unanimously approved. <br />UPDATES: Marble Collection – They only applied for Austin Prep, not RMHS. Material was <br />distributed to all high schools, but grant only covered those who expressed interest. 103 schools <br />participated. The public library did get a copy and the RMHS library received 1 also. LH <br />checked with Austin Prep (Vince Parelli – but didn't speak with him directly) to learn that they <br />received 25 books. Reading Community Singers – 90'h anniversary celebration. Commissioned <br />piece and Stopping By Woods opened the show. Reading Town Day – No one attended from <br />RCC. The date for the author event at the public library was changed to May 20. <br />TREASURER: $5317.13 + YTD Town of Reading <br />$5030.00 is the amount available for 09 -10 granting cycle. <br />$ 237.49 is in the administrative fund. <br />$ 49.64 is remaining, which is posted interest. <br />There are 11 outstanding grants for reimbursement of the 2009 -2010 grant cycle. <br />All project contacts have been given reminder calls to submit reimbursement forms. <br />Project 10 -09 Arts Advantage Srs and Adults is experiencing a delay in artist. <br />As a reminder: Councils may set aside up; to 5% of the state allotment each <br />funding cycle for administrative funds. Any locally raised money or interest earned from <br />state funds may be used for administrative expenses without being subject to a percentage <br />limit. Councils may not accumulate unspent administrative funds on the local level from <br />year to year. Any unspent administrative funds from a prior grant cycle should be treated <br />as unencumbered money and should be regranted during the following grant cycle <br />RCTV COVERAGE OF GRANT RECIPIENTS: PC and VS met with KV at the new home of <br />RCTV. The 1 hour long taping will be edited and enhanced with B -roll footage. VS invited KV <br />to tonight's meeting. VS put out sample questions for Beth Mosier, Kate Warner, Judith Clark <br />and Sue Beauregard. KV to make montage of past projects. AA suggested that contact info be <br />included at the end of the program. VS reviewed info that would be shared on program to explain <br />
